We support the efforts of organisations who are dedicated to the care and responsible retirement of racehorses
Racehorses are athletes who dedicate their lives to competing on the track, but they cannot race forever. When they reach their limit or suffer from injuries, they deserve a chance to enjoy a happy and comfortable retirement.
As racehorse owners, we have a responsibility to ensure that our horses are treated with respect and dignity throughout their lives, especially when they retire from racing. We should support the efforts of those who care for retired racehorses and help them find suitable homes and careers. We should also advocate for better policies and regulations that protect the rights and welfare of racehorses in the industry. By doing so, we can honour the legacy of these magnificent animals and give them the retirement they deserve. Classic Racing is committed to the responsible management of retirement of racehorses. We explore the most suitable retirement option for each horse, depending on their health, temperament, and potential.

These options include:
- Breeding – this option is usually reserved for the elite horses who have proven themselves on the track and have the desired pedigrees.
- Other equestrian sport – some horses can be trained to transition into other equestrian disciplines, such as dressage, show jumping, polo, or eventing. These sports require different skills and training, but they can offer a new challenge and purpose for retired racehorses.
- Sanctuaries – some racehorses are not suitable for breeding or other sports, either because of their age, injuries, or personality. These horses need a safe and loving place to spend the rest of their days, where they can receive proper care and attention. There are several organisations that rescue and provide sanctuary for these horses.
